A bright spot for those homeowners who bought during the peak years of the Redding housing market.
For those of us who purcahsed homes in the last 5 or 6 years there isn’t much to get excited about when it comes to the value of our homes. I do want to make sure you know about something that though it might not be great news, at least it’s not bad news.
It is called Proposition 8 Tax Relief and here is how it works: If your property value has gone down and the taxable value is above the current market value you may be eligible for tax relief. The time frame for you to ask for a review of your assessed value is July 2nd till November 30th. Click here and print out the Request for Review form. Just fill it out and mail it or drop it by the Assessors Office.
